Kling AI fills $3 billion equity subscription programme
Kuaishou’s video AI business adds China AI Fund and Charoen Pokphand Robot under its existing financing agreement.
Kling AI’s equity financing programme has reached its $3 billion subscription ceiling, Kuaishou disclosed in an August 31, 2026 update. The capital increase agreement was first announced on July 2, with investors signing cash subscriptions subject to the agreement’s conditions.
China Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund Partnership agreed to contribute RMB1.4 billion, while Charoen Pokphand Robot agreed to contribute about $19.29 million. Kuaishou also revised several existing allocations within the same programme. The final table totals RMB20.4471 billion of subscriptions.
Other investors include Tencent-controlled Shanghai Qishan Investment and Parallel Mars Investment, Hangzhou AliCloud Apsara and Beijing Baidu Netcom. Kuaishou plans to use the proceeds for business expansion, working capital and team development.
The transaction gives Beijing Kling a dedicated financing structure for the Kling AI video-generation business while it remains consolidated within Kuaishou. Subscription commitments and registered share capital are distinct from cash already received.
