adsilico builds virtual patient populations to help medical-device manufacturers test how implants perform across different anatomies.
Testing implants across more anatomies
adsilico develops Virtual Chimera for manufacturers of heart valves, stents and neurovascular devices. The platform combines generative models built from anonymised clinical scans with physics-based simulation, allowing teams to evaluate a device across virtual hearts and blood vessels.
Manufacturers can vary anatomy and patient characteristics to examine device fit, identify higher-risk groups and refine designs before clinical studies. The simulations provide additional evidence alongside laboratory and clinical testing.
From research to device development
Founded in 2024 by Sheena Macpherson, Nishant Ravikumar and Zeike Taylor, the Leeds company has worked with heart-valve and neurovascular-device manufacturers. Its development work includes virtual-heart models and simulations for flow diverters used to treat brain aneurysms.
