FlamAid closes €1m second funding round

Ilia Topuria and José Avillez joined backing for the personal-safety device and monitoring service.

FlamAid announced a €1 million second investment round on 20 October 2026, with new investors including mixed-martial-arts champion Ilia Topuria and chef José Avillez. Existing backers also participated.

The Barcelona company will use the funding to expand operations and develop its personal-safety offering, including a subscription that connects device alerts with a monitoring centre.

Its portable alarm sounds when activated and uses a companion app to send location alerts to trusted contacts. Under the premium service, Grupo Control’s monitoring centre verifies the emergency before notifying the appropriate police or emergency responders.
