Varda raises $251m Series D after six recovered capsules

Varda builds spacecraft that manufacture materials in low Earth orbit and return them to Earth. Its capsules support microgravity pharmaceutical development and materials processing, followed by controlled reentry and post-flight analysis of returned payloads.

Varda raised $251 million in Series D funding led by Lux Capital and Natural Capital. The financing brings cumulative capital raised to $598 million.

The company's flight record includes six launched and recovered capsules, with another dozen in production. That hardware base supports its effort to make orbital manufacturing and payload return a repeatable service.

Varda's spacecraft support microgravity pharmaceutical development and materials processing, then return payloads to Earth for analysis.
