Town raises $108m to connect AI assistants across teams

Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures co-led the Series B as Town develops assistants that coordinate work between colleagues.

Town announced a $108 million Series B on October 19, co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures. Existing backers a16z and First Round Capital participated, alongside Better Tomorrow Ventures, Precedent.vc, Scribble Ventures, Serena Ventures, Sparked Ventures and individual investors.

The company is developing ways for its personal AI assistants, called Townies, to work together. Instead of waiting for colleagues to find information, arrange an introduction or compare calendars, users would have their assistants coordinate that work through the tools their teams already use.

Town says thousands of businesses now use its assistants. The financing supports its move from helping one person manage work to helping teams coordinate across inboxes, calendars, chat and business applications.
