Third Wave Coffee raises $6 million Series A for nationwide expansion

The coffee chain plans to add stores and recruit senior leadership as it grows beyond its initial city network.

Third Wave Coffee announced a $6 million Series A on 14 December 2021. Participants included Sujeet Kumar, Arpan Sheth and Ayyappan Rajagopal, alongside other existing and new shareholders.

The Bengaluru coffee business planned to use the investment for expansion across India and to hire a leadership team with experience at established quick service restaurant brands.

At the time of the announcement, the company operated 35 outlets across four cities after tripling its store count over the preceding year. Its offering combined specialty coffee with food, while its online business sold packaged coffee for home brewing.
