Sunshiki raised ¥80 million in pre-seed funding led by the Circular Economy Nature Positive No. 1 Fund, with Ando Corporation participating. The financing supports a seaweed-based feed ingredient intended to reduce cattle methane and further development of the company's seaweed platform.
The company is preparing commercialisation after demonstrating stable Asparagopsis cultivation in commercial-scale test tanks. Reliable supply and processing that preserves active compounds are central to turning the research into a usable livestock-feed ingredient.
