Re:Build raises $2.1 billion to expand US manufacturing
General Catalyst and JPMorganChase’s Strategic Investment Group co-lead the investment in Re:Build’s industrial manufacturing platform.
Re:Build announced $2.1 billion in new financing on October 27, 2026, led by General Catalyst and JPMorganChase’s Strategic Investment Group. The investment will expand its capacity to manufacture hard tech products in the United States and help launch new industrial businesses.
Capital for a larger manufacturing platform
The company plans to deploy the capital across aerospace and defense, electrification, medical equipment, energy, and robotics and automation. It says the financing gives its long-term holding company the resources to support expansion across these industries.
For customers developing physical products, the expansion connects access to engineering and production capacity with the capital required to reach industrial scale. Re:Build also plans to use the investment to support founding teams building new manufacturing companies.
General Catalyst first invested in Re:Build in 2024. JPMorganChase’s Strategic Investment Group oversees direct equity investing for the bank’s Security and Resiliency Initiative.
