General Catalyst and La Famiglia invest $120 million in Re:Build
The August 2024 investment backed Re:Build’s platform for US industrial design, engineering and manufacturing.
General Catalyst announced a $120 million investment in Re:Build Manufacturing on August 14, 2024. Transaction adviser Goodwin subsequently identified General Catalyst Partners and La Famiglia as the investors in the combined $120 million transaction.
The backing supported Re:Build’s plan to develop an interconnected group of engineering and manufacturing businesses in the United States. At the announcement, the company comprised 13 businesses working across industrial disciplines.
General Catalyst’s investment thesis centered on strengthening domestic production capabilities and supply chains across industries including aerospace, healthcare, defense and clean technology. For Re:Build, the relationship also offered access to potential customers, partners and suppliers in the investor’s technology portfolio.
