Jinja Bukkaku Online awarded up to ¥1m subsidy for SAMGHA apparel

The Kyoto company will support product development and promotion for apparel based on temple collections and historic artwork.

Jinja Bukkaku Online has been selected for a Small Business Sustainability Subsidy of up to ¥1 million to develop SAMGHA, the apparel project it operates with Web-Design.LINK. The partners announced the award on August 29, 2026.

Turning temple collections into cultural products

SAMGHA adapts actual temple-held artwork, historical documents and religious imagery into apparel and lifestyle products. The partners plan to use the funding support for product development, marketing and promotion, with part of sales returned to participating temples.

The project will also expand temple partnerships and reach customers interested in Japanese culture at home and overseas. The subsidy is awarded support capped at ¥1 million.

Separate funding for each partner

Web-Design.LINK separately received a ¥2 million Japan Finance Corporation loan. The announcement assigns that loan to Web-Design.LINK and the subsidy to Jinja Bukkaku Online; together they support the partners’ work on the same brand.
