Foundational raises £8.2m pre-seed for satellite-tracking infrastructure

Foundational emerged from stealth on October 1 with £8.2 million in pre-seed financing. Its system measures the return time of laser pulses reflected from spacecraft to help operators determine their position.
Automating ground stations turns a technique traditionally used at specialist facilities into a distributed commercial service. The company says its network is tracking objects and onboarding customers through Origin, linking space hardware with a data service for satellite operations.
