Antheia secures $9 million expansion of U.S. pharmaceutical manufacturing agreement
The additional federal award brings Antheia’s second BioMaP project to $21 million and supports domestic production of two critical ingredients.
An expanded federal manufacturing project
Antheia announced an additional $9 million under its second BioMaP-Consortium project agreement on March 4. The expansion brings that project’s total investment to $21 million. It is federal project funding under an Other Transaction Authority agreement, separate from the company’s venture financing.
More domestic ingredient production
The expanded scope will support U.S. production of two critical pharmaceutical ingredients at greater commercial scale using Antheia’s biosynthesis platform. Funding comes through the Department of Health and Human Services’ Defense Production Act Title III program.
The agreement is part of Antheia’s work to reduce pharmaceutical supply-chain vulnerabilities. It follows January’s second Series C close, which funded broader commercial manufacturing expansion and plans to establish U.S. operations.
