AnaCardio raises €62.5 million Series B for heart-failure drug candidate
The financing follows proof-of-concept results and takes AC01 into a larger patient study.
New lead investors join the clinical program
AnaCardio announced the financing on September 30, 2026. Novo Holdings and the Ljungström family office co-led the round, with Helsinn and existing backers joined by new investor Innovestor Life Science. The company said it had raised approximately €100 million overall.
A larger study after proof of concept
The next step is GOAL-HF2, a randomized Phase 2b study expected to start enrolling in Q4 2026. It will test two doses of AC01 over 12 weeks in roughly 400 patients at about 100 sites in North America and Europe. AnaCardio aims to have the program ready for Phase 3 by 2028.
AC01 is an oral drug candidate intended to strengthen heart muscle contraction. The financing follows earlier GOAL-HF1 results published in The Lancet in June 2026; the larger study will further evaluate safety and efficacy.
Use of funds
Fund AC01 through Phase 2b clinical development in chronic advanced HFrEF, targeting Phase 3 readiness by 2028.
