ALORA names Adam Helms CEO and closes new funding round
The Neglected Climate Opportunities Fund leads undisclosed financing as ALORA broadens crop-trait validation and its founding CEO becomes CTO.
Leadership changes alongside a broader validation program
ALORA announced new financing and Adam Helms’ appointment as CEO on March 3, 2026. The Neglected Climate Opportunities Fund, a subsidiary of the Grantham Environmental Trust, led the round, with Toyota Ventures participating. The amount and round stage were not disclosed in the announcement.
Founding CEO Luke Young moves to the CTO role to lead research and development. ALORA’s 2026 priority is to reproduce its early rice results across additional genetic backgrounds, crops and locations, building evidence for future commercial partnerships. The leadership transition accompanies that move from initial research toward broader validation.
