ALORA develops crop traits intended to help plants sustain growth when heat or saline conditions would otherwise divert energy into stress responses. Its approach uses multiplex gene editing to change plant control systems and the balance between defensive processes and yield.

The company’s initial work is in rice, with experiments in controlled environments and field trials. It is developing and validating traits across genetic backgrounds as it works toward commercial partnerships.
