Biochar Industrial Group
United States · Climate tech · Agritech
Biochar Industrial Group partners with agricultural processors to install and operate pyrolysis equipment that converts their residues into biochar and verified carbon-credit revenue.
A processing and revenue partnership
BIG targets processors producing substantial volumes of agricultural residues such as palm kernel shells, cashew husks and sawdust. It finances, installs and operates an industrial pyrolyzer at a partner’s site, so the processor supplies feedstock without buying the equipment. The system heats material in a low-oxygen environment to make stable biochar rather than burning the residue in the open.
Biochar links waste handling to carbon revenue
BIG manages the chain from feedstock collection through production, carbon-credit verification and sales, then shares proceeds with the processor. Its site describes third-party checks of biochar carbon content and stability and identifies an operating palm-kernel-shell plant in Nigeria. The model is built for agricultural processors with enough annual feedstock to support an industrial installation; BIG says it selectively assesses partners based on feedstock and site economics.
