Targeting a shared amyloid structure
Amyl's candidates recognize a structural feature shared across different toxic amyloid fibrils instead of targeting only one protein. The approach aims to recruit immune clearance of aggregates and inhibit their formation, potentially addressing diseases that share the same fibril structure.
The company is also engineering a brain-shuttle approach to improve delivery to the brain. Its programs remain preclinical, with development focused on producing a clinical candidate and generating the supporting efficacy and safety data.
