Wafer raises $40m Series A for inference infrastructure
Wafer benchmarks models, serving software and hardware together, then keeps optimizing against live traffic.
Wafer raised $40 million in Series A funding co-led by Marathon and Chemistry. Fifty Years, Y Combinator, AMD Ventures, Wing Venture Capital and Outset Capital participated.
The company plans engineering expansion and faster customer onboarding. Its inference service tunes model-serving software and available hardware to workload latency, reliability and cost requirements.
DigitalOcean reports using the service to improve inference on AMD hardware, providing a production-customer example as Wafer expands.
