Volantis raised $88 million in Series A funding co-led by Lachy Groom and Abstract Ventures.
The company is developing A-1, a photonic computing and interconnect system for very large AI models. Its stated targets include support for models exceeding 20 trillion parameters and up to 10,000 tokens per second per user; these are design targets.
