Unit1 Studio secures $20 million for avatar concert production

The financing combines a Balderton-led equity round with capital for shows in development.

Unit1 Studio announced $20 million in new financing on September 21. Existing backers Mercuri, Gilston Music and Paul McGuinness participated in the equity round; the company did not disclose how the total is split between equity and production financing.

The London studio develops concerts featuring digital performers and physical staging. It has moved its KT Tunstall showcase from Hammersmith to Tileyard London, where it will develop further productions. Making completed shows transferable between venues is central to its plan to serve more artists and audiences.
