Typewriter Therapeutics raises $56m Series A for RNA gene-writing research

The platform is being developed for in vivo CAR-T and severe genetic diseases.

Typewriter Therapeutics raised $56 million in Series A funding co-led by AN Venture Partners and RA Capital Management. ANRI, Gemseki and SBI US Gateway Fund participated.

Proceeds support operations and research and development. The company is developing programmes in in-vivo CAR-T engineering and gene insertion for severe genetic diseases, including liver disorders.

Its all-RNA approach uses the R2 retrotransposon system to insert therapeutic genes at defined genomic sites without viral vectors or double-strand DNA breaks. These programmes remain investigational.
