EBRD invests €15m in Sportano for European expansion and logistics automation
The sports retailer plans technology investment, stronger inventory availability and proprietary brands as international markets exceed half of sales.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development invested €15 million in Sportano's equity. It joins the shareholder base alongside bValue Growth Fund I, which became the first external shareholder in 2024 and remains invested.
Proceeds support expansion in Poland and other European markets, technology and AI capabilities, logistics automation, inventory availability and proprietary or exclusive brands.
International markets account for more than half of Sportano's sales. The company says it reached profitability in the first half of 2026 while continuing to grow, giving its next expansion phase an operating base beyond domestic sales.
