Soteris discloses more than $8m in seed funding
Spider Capital led the disclosed seed financing as Soteris unveiled software for identifying unprofitable insurance policies.
Intact Private Capital, Amplify Partners, DCVC, Webb Investment Network and Overlook Ventures participated in the seed funding. The announcement accompanied a product launch and did not identify a separate newly closed September round.
Soteris helps property and casualty insurers and managing general agents assess expected losses and profit at the individual-policy level. Its new product extends that analysis to policies whose economic contribution can be obscured by broader portfolio averages.
