S-Transistors raises €2.6m pre-seed for quantum control circuits
The VTT spinout is taking superconducting transistor technology into prototype circuits for controlling quantum processors inside cryogenic refrigerators.
Moving control electronics closer to the quantum chip
Quantum processors operate at extremely low temperatures, but much of their control equipment remains outside the refrigerator. Separate cables connect that equipment to individual qubits, creating a wiring and heat-management problem as systems grow. S-Transistors is developing integrated circuits intended to handle signals closer to the processor.
The Espoo company originates from VTT and announced the financing on August 31, 2026. Lifeline Ventures led the round, joined by an unnamed angel investor. VTT describes transistor technology already demonstrated at wafer scale; the financing supports the next step from those devices to product prototypes.
