RISE Robotics wins $100,000 MassVentures grant for Beltdraulic commercialization

The non-dilutive grant backs commercial applications of an alternative to hydraulic cylinders.

Electric actuation without hydraulic fluid

RISE Robotics’ Beltdraulic system uses electric motors, belts and pulleys to produce high-force linear movement without hydraulic fluid. The architecture is designed to give heavy machinery the force of hydraulic systems alongside digital control and precision, with applications spanning construction, agriculture, industrial equipment and defense.

MassVentures awarded RISE a Stage I START grant to support commercialization. The company is also eligible to compete for later awards of up to $800,000 in total program funding. The grant is separate from RISE’s previously announced $3 million U.S. Air Force award for developing its SuperJammer munitions-handling system.
