Planted raises $31.8m to expand solar-construction robot fleet
Its Sage field robot is expected to enter deployment in late 2026.
Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gigascale Capital, Google and Khosla Ventures also participated.
Planted plans to expand its robotic fleet and launch Sage, its next-generation field robot. Sage is expected to enter deployment in late 2026.
The investment builds on initial solar projects using terrain-following arrays and robots. The system is designed to install on slopes up to 27% without grading, connecting fleet growth to deployment on more challenging sites.
