Ocean secures Series A first close for tax-refund platform
Z Venture Capital, Delight Ventures, ONE-JAPAN Tourism Fund, Dual Bridge Capital and Bluefin Partners backed Ocean.
The financing was raised through a new share issuance; the amount was not disclosed.
Ocean plans to complete retailer support for Japan’s scheduled November 2026 transition to refund-based tax-free shopping. It also plans inbound-marketing and customer-retention programs.
Ocean Tax Refund is already launched, with retailer applications and financial-institution and point-of-sale integrations reported. The new capital supports the transition from those deployments to broader retailer use.
