Monava secures funding for passive acoustic drone detection
Gungnir Capital leads the investment alongside Foundry Ventures and Hede Capital.
Monava closed a financing round announced on August 4, with Gungnir Capital as the largest investor and participation from Foundry Ventures and Hede Capital. Gungnir managing partner Max Villman joins the board.
Listening for drones
The Swedish-Finnish company combines acoustic sensors and AI to detect, track and classify drones. Passive sensing avoids transmitting a signal, providing another way to identify threats in conditions where radar may struggle.
Monava’s systems are already deployed in the Nordics and Ukraine following testing with armed forces. The company says rising enquiries and its growing order book are creating pressure to expand delivery capacity.
