Malachyte raises $10m seed co-led by Bessemer and Gradient
The company applies real-time behavioral models to online product discovery.
The business
Malachyte raised a $10 million seed round to address what it describes as e-commerce’s blind spot: visitors who browse without logging in. The company’s announcement argues that static pages and batch recommendations miss in-session signals, while customer acquisition costs make converting each visit more valuable.
Gradient says Malachyte trains on each retailer’s own behavioral data and updates shopper intent in under 200 milliseconds. The system uses signals from the current visit, including clicks, comparisons and abandoned carts, allowing merchants to respond before a shopper leaves.
