Kardigan launches with $300m Series A for targeted heart medicines
Perceptive Advisors, ARCH Venture Partners and Sequoia Heritage led the financing for a cardiovascular drug developer founded by former MyoKardia executives.
Kardigan launched on January 10, 2025, after closing a $300 million Series A led by Perceptive Advisors, ARCH Venture Partners and Sequoia Heritage.
The company combines discovery and translational research with licensing and acquisitions to build a portfolio of targeted cardiovascular medicines. Its model connects disease biology with patient groups most likely to respond, using cardiac-specific tools to support clinical development.
The founding team includes former MyoKardia executives Tassos Gianakakos, Jay Edelberg and Bob McDowell. The financing supports programs focused on poorly served areas of cardiology, including forms of cardiomyopathy that lead to heart failure.
