Gamegum announces ¥30m pre-seed to grow Roblox development
Hyperion led the round, with CafeGroup and Incubate Fund, as the Japanese game studio expands its team and entertainment-IP work.
Gamegum has announced a ¥30 million pre-seed round led by Hyperion, with participation from CafeGroup and Incubate Fund. The company disclosed the financing on August 27, 2026, saying the investment had been completed in July.
Developing the product and team
The proceeds will support hiring, organizational expansion and stronger Roblox development capabilities. Gamegum plans to grow both its game-production work for brands and its creative-entertainment business built around intellectual property.
The studio develops playable experiences, manages promotion and operates games and communities. Its work includes collaborations involving Japanese entertainment properties, connecting content with audiences on Roblox.
Based in Sakaiminato, Tottori, Gamegum works with creators and partners in Japan and overseas. The new financing is intended to increase the speed and quality of development as the company builds a larger production organization.
