ARK secures approximately ¥1.3B in Series A financing
The aquaculture business combines investment and bank lending to fund systems development, farm projects and international hiring.
UntroD Capital Japan, Beyond Next Ventures and BP Capital are the named lead investors. The financing also includes loans from Resona Bank, Hokkoku Bank and Japan Finance Corporation; the approximately ¥1.3 billion figure covers the combined package.
ARK will strengthen its business foundation, develop systems and products, build aquaculture farms and recruit global talent. Those plans extend its existing work in modular land-based aquaculture rather than marking the first development of the technology.
