Arc Boat Company raises $50M Series C for commercial electric propulsion

The financing supports Arc’s expansion into tugboats, ferries and defense vessels following a $160M fleet contract with Curtin Maritime.

The Series C includes Eclipse, Andreessen Horowitz, Menlo Ventures, Lowercarbon Capital, Necessary Ventures and Offline Ventures. Arc is directing the capital toward production of electric powertrains for commercial marine operations.

Its Curtin Maritime agreement covers eight hybrid-electric tugboats, beginning at the Port of Los Angeles. At the announcement, the first tug was expected on the water during 2026 and a second was under construction. Arc also described work with defense contractors and plans to serve ferry operations, extending the business beyond recreational boats.
