Nordic Foodtech VC backs AquaNab’s aquaculture treatment development
The undisclosed investment supports development of feed-delivered nanoantibodies for sea lice in salmon farming.
A first investment outside the Nordics
The investment marks Nordic Foodtech VC’s first deal outside the Nordic region. AquaNab is also its first German portfolio company, extending the fund’s reach into Hamburg’s biotechnology sector.
AquaNab’s initial programme focuses on Atlantic salmon, with the underlying platform intended to support work on other aquaculture diseases. The company is advancing toward proof of concept and eventual commercial products.
The approach aims to deliver targeted antibodies through fish feed, giving producers another route to disease control alongside chemical and mechanical treatments.
