AOI Biosciences announces approximately ¥500M equity and secondary transaction
AOI's financing combines new shares and an existing-share transfer. The company reports roughly ¥1 billion in cumulative funding after the new issuance.
Primary capital and secondary liquidity
The September 14 announcement gives approximately ¥500 million as the combined transaction value. It does not separate proceeds from newly issued shares and shares sold by existing holders, so the full figure cannot be treated as new company capital.
Returning and new backers
Returning investors include Japan Venture Capital, SBI Shinsei Corporate Investment and i-nest capital. New participants include GoAhead Ventures, Seiho Investment Works, SUMISEI INNOVATION FUND, OCP2号投資事業有限責任組合, BIG Impact K2ファンド and Chushin Venture Capital.
AOI said the financing would support international commercialization and further diagnostics and drug-discovery development. Its investor comments identify OCP2 and BIG Impact K2 as specific funds, separately from their managers.
