Anzen Industries raises $2.2M pre-seed for its first U.S. manufacturing facility
LocalGlobe and Creator Fund lead Anzen's $2.2 million pre-seed as the enzyme-manufacturing company prepares California operations.
European research moves toward U.S. production
The January 19 financing includes angel investors Konstantin von Unger and Cory Levy. Founded by Amy Locks and Pedro Lovatt Garcia, Anzen said it would use the capital to establish its first manufacturing facility, relocate operations to the United States and develop industrial partnerships.
The founders described a progression from European scientific research toward commercial manufacturing. Their cell-free reactor approach is intended to give chemical producers greater control over supply and scale without relying on large fermentation plants. The company subsequently adopted the Tera name; this financing was announced under Anzen Industries.
