TUSK IC

Belgium · Space tech · Hardware

Fabless semiconductor company making Ka-band beamformer chips and antenna modules that help equipment makers build electronically steerable satellite terminals for LEO and MEO networks.

Building blocks for flat-panel satellite terminals

TUSK IC designs transmit and receive beamformer chips, low-noise amplifiers and active antenna modules for Ka-band satellite communications. The chips electronically steer phased-array antenna beams, while the modules and evaluation kits give terminal manufacturers components they can integrate and test as they develop flat-panel user terminals.

Standard CMOS for a broader terminal market

The company uses widely available bulk CMOS rather than more specialized semiconductor processes to make beamforming components more scalable and cost-effective. Its products are aimed at equipment makers building terminals for low- and medium-Earth-orbit constellations, with a roadmap progressing from chips and evaluation platforms toward volume production.
