Thermalytica develops tiisa, a flexible silica-aerogel insulation material, and thermal-management solutions for industrial and infrastructure applications.
Insulation built around a porous material
Thermalytica develops tiisa, a silica-aerogel material designed to combine insulation performance with flexibility. The company says the material’s structure is 99.4% air and uses its nanoscale design to address thermal-management needs.
The company is working toward a manufacturing system that can supply the material consistently at larger scale, alongside development of applications suited to different operating conditions.
Developing industrial applications
A spinout from Japan’s National Institute for Materials Science established in 2021, Thermalytica is pursuing uses across areas such as industrial insulation, hydrogen infrastructure, battery safety and electronic equipment.
Its commercial-development work connects material production with application testing, customer requirements and partnerships in Japan and overseas.
