retoflow builds grid-planning software for electricity and pipeline operators. Its digital twin brings network and operating data into a computable model so planners can simulate future demand, spot bottlenecks and coordinate network investment and operations.

A computable model of the network

retoflow provides software for electricity and pipeline network operators. It turns GIS, ERP and operating data into an up-to-date digital twin that planners can use across network operations, connection planning and longer-term target-grid design.

Testing future network states

Scenario tools let operators simulate how demand and new connections may affect the network, making constraints easier to identify before committing to upgrades. By automating data updates and planning workflows, retoflow helps municipal utilities and larger grid operators handle the growing complexity of electrification and the energy transition. The company was founded in 2021 as a Fraunhofer IEE and University of Kassel spin-off and describes its software as in use by operators.
