Machenta develops AI models that help robots learn physical tasks from demonstrations.

Learning physical tasks

Machenta trains robot learning models in simulated environments. Its approach is designed to let a robot perform a new task after seeing a demonstration, reducing the repeated teaching needed for each job.

Potential tasks include packing, assembly and tidying. The company is developing the underlying model and scaling its technology with a London-based team.

From research to a company

Edward Johns, a professor of robot learning at Imperial College London, co-founded Machenta with his PhD student Vitalis Vosylius. Their work builds on research into how robots can acquire and transfer physical skills.
