Jinkong Technology develops robots and control hardware for servicing satellites and manufacturing in orbit.
Product
Jinkong Technology is building robotic systems for work in orbit, including maintaining satellites, replacing equipment modules and handling materials in microgravity. Founded in 2026 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University professor He Jun, the company develops the control hardware and manipulation systems needed to turn space facilities into working production environments.
Its components include intelligent controllers, servo drives, joint modules and multidimensional force sensors. Jinkong adapts industrial components for radiation, vacuum and extreme temperatures, combining them with an Ethernet-based control architecture that coordinates robot joints and sensors.
The company plans an initial component-validation flight in late 2026, followed by an orbital demonstration of its Jinkong No.1 robot in mid 2027. Planned tasks include changing tools and plugging or unplugging connectors, capabilities relevant to maintaining orbital computing infrastructure and later space manufacturing.
