InspectRail combines onboard sensors, data capture and software to monitor railway infrastructure and help operators plan preventive maintenance.

Rail infrastructure monitoring during service

InspectRail installs inspection technology on railway vehicles so operators can collect infrastructure data more frequently during normal service. Its systems assess track geometry and rail wear, detect surface defects, measure pantograph–catenary interaction and overhead-wire condition, and monitor wireless communications, signals, balises and environmental conditions.

A shared view for preventive maintenance

The company pairs its onboard measurement systems with software for managing and visualizing results. Higher-frequency readings help infrastructure managers identify emerging issues and prioritize maintenance before defects cause unplanned failures. InspectRail also describes an autonomous inspection vehicle for comprehensive surveys. The offering brings several inspection modalities into one railway-focused system rather than treating track, overhead lines and surrounding assets as separate data streams.
