A solid-state foundation for the electric grid
Heron Link combines power conversion and grid controls in a medium-voltage system designed to replace conventional transformers and separate low-voltage inverters. Renewable-energy, battery-storage and data-center developers can connect their assets directly to medium-voltage transmission, with software-controlled power electronics managing the conversion.
Heron is scaling manufacturing and preparing utility-scale pilots; its first announced pilot with RWE is targeted for 2027. The company is converting a California facility into a factory, with mass production planned for late 2027, so the product is in pre-deployment scale-up rather than broad commercial operation.
