Automates carbon-fiber textile handling to produce composite parts for drones and other unmanned systems.
Product
Helicon automates carbon-fiber textile handling to manufacture composite parts for drones and other unmanned systems. Its production process aims to take composite manufacturing from small, labor-intensive batches toward high-volume output, with cycle times under 15 minutes.
Its Argos software coordinates engineering, mold design, simulation and production planning. Robots handle material placement and finished parts, with inspection results feeding back into manufacturing. Helicon is ramping its first factory in Torrance, California.
