Eterna Regeneratives
United Kingdom · Healthtech · Biotech
Eterna Regeneratives develops keratin-based biomaterials that guide mineral growth to repair enamel and, in a separate application, support bone regeneration. Its research-led platform is moving from proof of concept toward dental and orthopaedic products.
A protein scaffold for mineral growth
Eterna is developing biomaterials that use keratin, a structural protein found in hair, skin and wool, to organise mineral formation. For enamel, its material creates a template that attracts calcium and phosphate and guides apatite growth along the tooth surface, aiming to repair mineral loss with the body’s own chemistry.
From enamel research to tissue repair
The company’s second application is a keratin membrane designed to provide a structured space for bone cells to form new tissue. Eterna describes the platform as based on a decade of biomineralisation research at King’s College London. It is still developing its first products; its public materials describe research and proof-of-concept evidence rather than marketed treatments.
