Antora Energy makes thermal batteries that store electricity as heat in carbon blocks and deliver continuous energy to industrial facilities and other large users.
Turning variable electricity into continuous industrial energy
Antora Energy serves industrial facilities, data centers and the grid with modular thermal energy storage. Electricity heats insulated blocks of solid carbon when power is inexpensive or plentiful; the stored heat can then be delivered continuously to industrial processes or used with steam equipment to generate electricity.
Factory-built modules scale to a site's energy demand and store energy for multiple days. Antora is also developing thermophotovoltaic conversion, which would turn light emitted by the hot carbon directly into electricity in future products. Its business combines battery manufacturing with deployment of large energy projects.
