AlixLabs develops atomic-layer etching processes and equipment for semiconductor manufacturers making smaller, more densely packed chip features.
Splitting nanoscale patterns
Its Atomic Pitch Splitting technology uses the sidewalls of existing wafer features as a topographical mask during etching, dividing those features into finer structures. The process is designed to complement lithography in advanced logic and memory production.
For semiconductor manufacturers, the intended benefit is finer patterning with fewer complex lithography steps. AlixLabs is developing the process and industrial equipment with partners as it works toward manufacturing adoption.
