Aepnus develops on-site electrochemical systems that turn industrial sodium-sulfate waste into caustic soda and sulfuric acid.
Product and customer workflow
Its process removes impurities, splits salts in an electrolyzer and purifies the resulting chemicals. Manufacturers can recycle waste into reagents used in batteries, paper, textiles and metals processing. Pilot work in Quebec uses industrial feedstocks from partners as the company works toward its first commercial plant.
